Pokeball Pokemon in Super Smash Bros. Brawl


Ever since the first Super Smash Bros. game, the Pokemon franchise has had a big role in the games. In each game, during a battle, you could pick up a Pokeball and unleash a Pokemon onto the field. Here is the list of the Pokeball Pokemon in Brawl and descriptions of what they do.



Name Photo Attack and Sidenotes
Jirachi Uses Fly once summoned to cause no damage, but it drops many stickers.
Weavile Uses False Swipe to dash around, causing knockback, slight damage, and flinching.
Gulpin Swallows an enemy when released, then spits them out with Spit Up.
Chikorita It uses the same attack as in Melee, Razor Leaf, to cause damage and knockback.
Electrode As in Melee, it will explode with Explosion causing good damage. If it doesn't explode, grab and throw it, it will explode on impact.
Celebi This Pokemon appears and uses Fly, but unlike the past games, this Pokemon may a trophy or more.
Mew This Pokemon appears, then leaves using Fly, but unlike the past games, this Pokemon may drop an item, such as a CD as it floats away on a bubble.
Kyogre Jumps into the air and uses Hydro Pump to cause massive knock you out of bounds and KO you. Touching it does give damage.
Torchic It explodes in a fury of fire, aka Fire Spin.
Groudon Comes out and its body will burn bright red, burning any enemy that touches it, aka Overheat.
Wobbuffet Same as before, it will attack anything that touches it, aka Counter.
Goldeen Such as the last game, it just Splashes around, doing nothing at all, but if you go near it while shielding, it breaks your shield.
Togepi Same as Melee, it uses Metronome and uses a random attack out of 5 possible.
Snorlax Same as before, jumps up, then returns twice as big, crushing any enemies under it, aka Body Slam.
Latios & Latias One comes out and summons the other, then both rush around the battlefield with Steel Wing to cause knockback from the wind they make and damage.
Staryu Will go to an enemy and use Swift, just as in Melee.
Bellossom Just like in Melee, it will put anything near it to sleep with Sweet Scent.
Metagross Unleashes Earthquake on the field with its large arms.
Gardevoir Uses Protect to reflect projectiles from within the dome and outside it at double the velocity, except those by the person who summoned it.
Moltres Stays in place, then uses Fly. Anything that touches it gains great damage.
Entei Uses Fire Spin to cause massive damage.
Attack Form Deoxys Spins into the air and unleashes Hyper Beam on the field below.
Bonsly It will be able to be picked up and thrown for a high amount of damage, when it hits, it is thought to be Double Edge.
Meowth It will use Pay Day to throw coins which cause knockback and damage. It attacks the area with the most enemies.
Manaphy It will use Heart Swap to switch the bodies of two enemies, they will be restored later on.
Piplup It will use Surf and push a Pokemon, like Marril in Melee, but with damage.
Munchlax It will eat any item near it, using its Pickup ability.
Suicune Uses Aurora Beam to cause massive damage.
Lugia Will use Aeroblast, as in Melee.
Ho-oh Will use Sacred Fire, as in Melee, to cause extreme damage.
