Mario Kart Wii Items
Mario Kart Wii features many items, a few of which are new to the Mario Kart series. Here are each of the items, their official art, and information about each of them.

Mushroom: The Mushroom item gives you a slight boost of speed to gain an upper hand on your enemies! |

Golden Mushroom: The Golden Mushroom item gives you the power of multiple mushrooms! Keep pushing the item button to gain a boost of speed from this item before it goes away! |

Triple Mushrooms: The Triple Mushrooms item, like its name states, gives you three mushrooms to use for speed boosts! |
 |
Banana: Throw the Banana item, and anything that runs into it will slip around and this could prove disasterous! Be sure not to hit one! |
 |
Triple Bananas: This item gives you three bananas, they will trail right behind you until you use them, so keep them behind you and if someone hits you from behind, a banana will slip them up! |

Red Shell: The Red Shell item will instantly seek the nearest racer and go after them, not stopping until it hits them or something else. |

Triple Red Shells: Gain the power of three Red Shells with this item! They will spin around you until you use them, you may even use them as a shield when items are thrown at you! |

Green Shell: The Green Shell item is an item that you can throw, it will randomly just move around the track until it breaks or hits an enemy. |

Triple Green Shells: Gain the power of three Green Shells with this item! They will spin around you until you use them, you may even use them as a shield when items are thrown at you! |

Blooper: This squid will squirt ink on the racers in higher positions than you, blocking their view and giving you a better opportunity to win! |

Blue Shell aka Flying Spiny Shell: This item will instantly fly over to the racer and first place, and ram into him/her, creating an explosion and allowing someone else to get first! |
 |
Bob-omb: This item is a bomb which can be thrown, it will walk around a bit, or charge up, and then explode! Be sure to not get caught in the explosion. |

Starman: Be invincible for a few seconds when you obtain this item. You gain a speed boost and any item or racer that touches you will be either destroyed or will spin out of control! |

Thunderbolt: This item appears when you are farther behind in the race, it will shrink and slow down all other enemies with a bolt of lightning! |
 |
Fake Item Box: Throw this fake box into the track, whoever thinks it is a real item box will be sure to collide into it and spin out of control! |
 |
Bullet Bill: Transform into a Bullet Bill and shoot through the race track! You will heavily damage any racer you hit, but take note, this item is only available when you are behind in the race. |

POW Block: When you get this item, a POW block will appear above every enemy! They must hop up right after the third POW smash, or it will make them spin out of control and slow down! |
 |
Mega Mushroom: This item with turn you giant for a short amount of time, be sure to hit every enemy and make them be hurt before the effect wears off! |
 |
Thundercloud: This item will give you a boost of speed when you get it, but then lightning will strike and shrink you! Hit another racer before the lightning strikes, the cloud will hit them instead! |
